For most, Christmas is a time of celebration. Whether it’s the magic of Father Christmas delivering your much anticipated wish list, the ample amounts of delicious food and drink to consume, or the quality time spent with family and friends. Why not do all of this on a Morzine Christmas ski holiday?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How you choose to celebrate is up to you, but I am going to tell you about why I think you should consider a luxury chalet holiday in Morzine<\/a> at Christmas. Here are my reasons as to why Christmas in Morzine is a magical experience…<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

#1 A White Christmas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There’s nothing better to get the whole family in the festive spirit than waking up to a picture-perfect snowy scene – and Morzine can certainly offer that! The tree-lined valley and chocolate-box chalets make for the perfect Christmas ski resort view from your luxury ski chalet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What’s more, children can spend hours playing in the snow; whether skiing, sledging, or building snowmen. These wholesome activities make for a perfect family ski holiday to Morzine<\/a> at Christmas. Not many can say they have skied on Christmas Day!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#2 Father Christmas in Morzine<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Every year, there is a big parade to celebrate the festivities with fireworks and a torchlit descent on the Pleney. Additionally, you can take the children down to meet Father Christmas in Morzine town square. Of course, he gets very busy from Christmas Eve…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rumour has it, the man in red lives in the neighbouring resort Les Gets.<\/a> You may even spot the reindeer tracks as he passes by your chalet! Head over to Les Gets where you will be greeted by the elves and shown to the grotto. If you’re lucky, you might even get a chance to help out the elves in their workshop. Of course, they’ll need a few pairs of extra hands in the run-up to the big day!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#3 Morzine Christmas Festivities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Continue the Christmas celebrations in Morzine with the annual Tourist Office parade. Prepare yourself for something spectacular! From flamethrowers and dancers, to fireworks and light shows, there is plenty to\u00a0 “ooo” and “aaah” at! The Enchanted Village Parade offers two full weeks of daily magic and illuminations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is also the luminous parade, which tells a magic story beneath the stars. If you are fighting the Christmas spirit, you’ll overcome this feeling after you have watched this magical performance. There’ll be no ‘Bah Humbugs’ in Morzine at Christmastime!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For more things to do in Morzine at Christmas, head on over to the square. There’s the carousel, choirs and bands, ice sculpturing, treasure hunts, and adorable street puppet performances. Of course, there’s also endless amounts of vin chaud and hot chocolate to keep you warm!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#4 Christmas Family Skiing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With 291 pistes and 208 lifts covering 12 resorts, the Portes du Soleil ski area<\/a> accommodates all ski abilities. There is no compromise for anyone on your Christmas ski holiday. Morzine is the gateway to the Portes du Soleil.<\/a> It is particularly well-connected to Les Gets<\/a> and Avoriaz,<\/a> meaning there is endless terrain for your week-long ski holiday. Morzine alone has 5 green runs,<\/span> 23 blue runs,<\/span> 29 red runs<\/span> <\/strong>and 9 black runs<\/span>,<\/strong> not to mention off-piste routes, snow parks and snow-shoe\/cross country ski trails.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beginners can practice their turns on the wide, flat pistes, which come with some great scenery. Intermediates can access a vast range of terrain, from whizzing down the cruisy blues to practising their technique on the reds. After all that, you may even take on the challenge of a black run or two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For advanced skiers, the Portes du Soleil is a playground. With black runs, moguls, off-piste terrain, snow parks and the legendary Swiss Wall,<\/a> there is plenty to explore. Some great advanced runs to tick off are Pistes A and J under the TS d’Atrayover, Arbis. After that, head to the Chavannes bowl in Les Gets for Yeti and Myrtilles, or Hauts Forts in Avoriaz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And what about the children? There are plenty of dedicated fun parks to keep them entertained on the slopes. For example, the Native American themed park in Les Gets has small bumps and raised bends taking you via wigwams, musical games and the hunter’s lodge!
