This visionary festival has been taking Verbier by storm for almost 50 years, having been created in 1967 by the late Claude Nobs. Infamous for it\u2019s amazing artistic collaborations, unforgettable concerts and ambitious projects, the festival mixes all genres of music and showcases some of the most talented new young artists.
\nSome of world\u2019s most legendary artists have taken to the stages at the Montreux Jazz Festival, including Deep Purple<\/a>, Adele<\/a> and the late music\u00a0icon Prince.<\/p>\n

Classic Music Festival<\/h2>\n

22nd July \u2013 7th August 2016<\/strong><\/p>\n

Verbier Classic Music Festival will be marking its 23rd edition this summer. The international festival for classical music takes place over two weeks every summer since it was founded in 1994 by T. Son Engstr\u00f6m<\/a>. Since its creation it has hosted some poignant artists from the classical arena, such as Julian Lloyd Webber<\/a>, Leif Ove Andsnes<\/a>, Martha Argerich <\/a>and Leonidas Kavakos<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Verbier Classic Music Festival, located in the idyllic Swiss Alps is renowned for showcasing young musical talent as it incorporates an Academy and three orchestras as well as its world-class classical performances: the Verbier Festival Orchestra, the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra and the Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra. Alexandra Coghlan, classical music critic of the New Statesman, even considers the festival to be more of a \u2018laboratory\u2019 for music making.<\/p>\n

Jumping International de Verbier<\/h2>\n

The International horse jumping show brings together some of the greatest riders from Europe, so there\u2019s plenty to entertain \u2013 whether you\u2019re riding or just watching. The equestrian show has the added wow factor, with the spectacular backdrop of mountain-top views. During the summer months in the centre of Verbier there is a weekly traditional market offering a range of delicious organic regional food and drink, and handmade craft products. The market will be open every Sunday for four weeks, on Rue de la Poste.<\/p>\n
