With the installation of the new Flexenbahn cableway, the Arlberg region<\/a> of Austria will join the World\u2019s Top 5 largest\u00a0interconnected ski areas, boasting 305km of linked runs. This is bigger than the infamous L’Espace Killy\u00a0region<\/a>, consisting of the well-known French resorts of Tignes<\/a> and Val d’Isere<\/a>!<\/p>\n

Opening ready for the 16\/17 ski season, the cable system will be able to transport up to 2,400 passengers per hour over the Flexenpass road, providing breathtaking views of the Klostertal valley and towards the Arlberg pass \/ St. Christoph.<\/p>\n

The addition of the Flexenbahn cableway not only means quicker, easier access between the well-loved St. Anton<\/a> and St. Christoph<\/a>, Stuben, Z\u00fcrs, Lech<\/a>, Oberlech, Schr\u00f6cken and Warth, but it will reduce the regions’ carbon footprint significantly. Bus trips between Z\u00fcrs and Stuben\/Alpe Rauz are expected to reduce by 120 each day!<\/p>\n

Another added benefit is that the Arlberg ski pass will also include 36m of runs in the smaller nearby areas of Sonnenkopf or Pettneu (although not linked) to give a total of 340km.<\/p>\n
