Suffering from slow speeds, long queues, and small cabins. The old lift wasn&#8217;t cut out for modern demands, prompting the upgrade for several reasons:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Obsolete Technology:<\/strong> Taking a famously slow 12 minutes to reach the summit, causing extreme bottlenecks. The retro &#8220;wonky&#8221; cabins required frequent maintenance to keep running.<\/li><li><strong>No &#8220;Ski-on&#8221; Access:<\/strong> Traversing between Verbier and La Tzoumaz required taking off your skis and waiting for a crowded shuttle bus to take them to the lift station.<\/li><li><strong>Comfort &amp; Capacity:<\/strong> The original 4-seater &#8220;bubbles&#8221; were cramp-inducingly small; passengers with standard ski gear were tightly packed, making for an uncomfortable ride.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The new T\u00e9l\u00e9mixte lift eliminates the &#8220;bus bottleneck&#8221; with seamless <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skiinluxury.com\/luxury-ski-in-ski-out-chalets\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ski-in ski-out<\/a> access, moving the departure station directly to Les Esserts. A new forest piste connecting Le Carrefour hub down to Les Esserts base.
