Guests choose any ski departure point in resort, then arrange or call for collection ensuring there is no need to walk anywhere with ski equipment. Ski to and from wherever; never wait for a ski bus, never walk in ski boots or carry skis.

The Property

Chez Bear Ski Lodge is a beautifully restored 17th century farmhouse which offers five-star luxury chalet services and the unique ambiance of a private hotel. Situated in the charming Belvoir village, five minutes drive above Briancon and Serre Chevalier by your private chauffeur, Chalet Chez Bear is exquisitely decorated and reflects characteristics from its long history, including an open plan living area with original stone work and larch beams.

The beautifully finished chalet bar features a wood burning pizza oven where much of the cuisine is prepared in front of you and the large dining area can seat up to 12 people. Along with its rustic charm, much of the success of the Chez Bear Ski Lodge is down to host and hostess Josy and Joe who provide a superb service catering for every guest requirement.

The chalet games area contains charming antique furniture and a selection of board games. The lounge is an excellent place to unwind with comfortable seating and large open fire. The hot tub is located outside on the terrace with views overlooking the valley. It is a wood fired hot tub that can seat 7 guests comfortably, made ready every evening for when guests return from the slopes.

There are five double/twin en-suite rooms, four of which feature mezzanines and stunning south facing views from the chalet of the mountain scenery of the Durance valley.

Prices are for exclusive use of the chalet for up to 12 people and include full chalet catering service and in-resort driver services.

Room Layout

Five charming chalet bedrooms with deep baths, walk in showers and breathtaking panoramic views of snowy mountains and valleys.

Four double bedrooms, two with deep baths and two with walk-in showers. The fifth bedroom, a twin room, has a walk-in shower. Four of the bedrooms feature a mezzanine level, accessed via drop-down stairs, adding one or two additional single beds.

The lodge's linen is from Sheridan, the towels from Christy, the bathrobes from Richard Howarth and the bath products from Molton Brown and Cowshed.

Services and Inclusions

We pride ourselves on the level of service that we offer, the chalet is staffed by a professional chef, host, housekeeper and also a driver who is on-call throughout the day and evening to take you to any of the lifts in Serre Chevalier or the town centre.

Our concierge team is on hand from the moment you book to help with all the finer arrangements for your stay; such as airport transfers, ski hire, lift passes, ski lessons, guiding and lunchtime restaurant reservations.

Food

We are extremely passionate about our food and wine - a gourmet evening meal is served on 6 evenings with carefully selected house wines. The afternoon tea of delicious cakes, confectionary and drinks is served everyday in front of a wood burning oven.

Evening meals have strong Italian and French influences - every dish is prepared with fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced and grown locally. Gluten free, vegetarian and other dietary requirements are catered for with pleasure.

Chalet guests are invited, and kindly encouraged, to discuss tastes and requirements before arrival allowing our chef to create bespoke menus that you will love - a unique service we are proud to offer.

Fine French and also Italian wines are carefully selected and served with all chalet meals - many of the Italian vintages are sourced directly from Cantina Comunale di La Morra in the heart of the Barolo wine region.
