Zermatt mountain village is establishing itself as one of the most renowned world-class resorts in the Alps. As a winter resort with an enviable snow record, superb skiing, stunning luxury ski chalets and a nightlife scene to match…A ski holiday in Zermatt has pretty much everything you could ask for!

Zermatt is a car-free resort making the swiss ski resort of Zermatt a truly unique experience. With free electric buses that connect all the main lift stations on the valley floor, the Zermatt ski area is easily accessible. There are also plenty of milk float style electric taxis for hire.  Visitors arrive in the resort by a short ride on the iconic red Zermatt train which leaves from the hamlet of Täsch, it’s a truly breathtaking experience. From here-in you will be stunned by a winter paradise, with horse-drawn sleighs in the streets of Zermatt village and Zermatt’s surrounding mountain peaks including the infamous Matterhorn.

The Matterhorn Ski Paradise which is accessed with your Zermatt ski pass is an extensive ski area, stretching from the Rothorn Paradise (3103m) and Gornergrat (3089m) to the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise (Klein Matterhorn, 3883m) and Schwarzsee Paradise (2583m). The Zermatt lift pass also connects you to the Italian ski resort of Breuil-Cervinia.

Skiing in Zermatt is exceptional for many reasons. Zermatt has the highest ski resort lift access point in Europe. It is a ski resort with snow certainty and the ski area includes ski resorts in Switzerland and Italy. With lots of good red run skiing in the Rothorn area amongst others, Zermatt is an ideal resort for intermediate skiers. For the extremist and advanced skiers, there are many challenges for you. The National, one of the longest black runs in the Alps, runs from the Blauherd back almost to resort level and is an exhilarating challenge for anyone. There is also the No. 59 piste in Zermatt/Cervinia that has a vertical drop of 250m in a distance of just over 750 metres. Its steepest point is a 65% gradient.
