When I was invited to go to visit The Chedi in Andermatt for a luxury ski and spa weekend I received a mixed reaction from friends, family and others from the luxury ski industry. Many hadn’t heard of the relatively unknown resort of Andermatt, needing to ask “is that a ski resort?” or “which country is that in?” However, those in the know were full of superlatives about what has been one of the most exciting hotel developments the ski industry has seen in recent years, and this “little gem” of a resort that is investing a great deal in its infrastructure and development in order to make a statement of intent, to put itself firmly on the map of luxury Swiss ski resorts.

Being a member of the Ski in Luxury team means that sometimes you have the opportunity to meet some pretty incredible people from the ski industry, and this week was one of those special occasions.
I was lucky enough to be put in touch with Jamie Barrow who at the age of 24 is already breaking speed records on a snowboard around the globe! It was amazing to get an insight into his story so far, and what inspires him to keep pushing on and breaking boundaries within his sport. Now Britain’s fastest snowboarder and with an everlasting hunger to keep smashing through any obstacle that is in front of him, we give you his story and exclusive interview.
After such a fabulous trip to the Portes du Soleil in December I wasn’t quite sure how my trip to Courchevel, more specifically to Courchevel Moriond, was going to match it, but boy was I mistaken. It was a whirlwind few days of visiting some very luxurious catered ski chalets, enjoying a spot of skiing, drinking delicious French wines and indulging in some divine gourmet food, which included my favourite…cheese.
I fell in love with the resort of Morzine on my first visit over 10 years ago and nothing has changed, from the easy and short transfer from Geneva airport to the beautiful mountains surrounding the stunning traditional and friendly ski resort. I have always loved it, both in the winter and summer and was thrilled to have the chance to head out to Morzine and Les Gets on a work trip in December.
Let’s face it, with the stresses of modern life, I’m sure you will agree holidays are the most sacred time of year. A chance to switch off, unwind and re-charge. For me it’s the opportunity to spend time with my loved ones, turn that dreaded alarm clock off, and drift happily into a deep zen-like state…
