Morillon is a beautiful family ski resort connected to the Grand Massif ski area, which offers 265km of ski slopes and around 135 runs of all levels, spread out across Morillon, Samoëns, Les Carroz, Flaine and Sixt Fer à Cheval. Not many places offer such a wide variety of skiing with virtually no queues and very few have such fantastic panoramic views over Mont-Blanc. And if the sublime beauty of the landscape isn't enough, the region also boasts a really good snow record, thanks to its geographic position. Offering excellent skiing for beginners and intermediates, this is a great resort for families and those trying skiing for the first time. There are some stunning luxury chalets offering the perfect ski holiday in both catered and self catered luxury chalets.
Morillon 1100 is a new development located 15 minutes drive up the mountain, this area is predominantly made up of self catered apartments. Access to the slopes from Morillon Village (700 metres) is by cable car and a number of lifts; you will ride the gondola down at the end of the day other than during the snowiest weeks when it is possible to ski down. However, Morillon 1100 is a ski-in ski-out, generally car free village, a particularly convenient resort for anyone looking to ski in the Flaine area, without being based in Flaine itself.
Morillon is open all year round offering adventure summer holidays and excellent skiing and sports in the winter. Further developments in the village due to start in 2012, comprising of more shops and business', a public swimming pool and spa and a public park linking to the lake.
Apres Ski
Both Morillon Village and Morillon 1100 offer a small selection of bars and restaurants, though nightlife is limited in scope, with the majority of visitors being either families or French locals.
