With the Three Valleys being the largest fully interconnected ski area in the world, the definition of designed for purpose, skiers and snowboarders can easily navigate between each of the resorts. La Chaudanne is Méribel’s main lift hub and a common ski school meeting point situated in the resort centre. Here, a selection of lifts are available, including the Rhodos, Tougnette, and Saulire Express gondolas, that all bring you up to different parts of the resort. Gentle runs accessible from these lifts include the green Blanchot and blue Faon pistes, which are both great for families. However, further up the mountain, more challenging slopes await, such as the La Combe du Vallon red piste and the daunting Campagnol black piste. Starting at an altitude of 2,952m, this is the resort’s highest skiing point with 1,000m of vertical drop. But worry not! If you’re not as confident as some skiers, you can simply ride the gondola up for some sightseeing before heading back down safely.

Further up the valley at 1,750m, you will discover Méribel-Mottaret. Its altitude offers fast access to snow-sure skiing and the neighbouring valleys. Despite its higher altitude and reliable snow, Méribel-Mottaret is a more peaceful part of the resort, with several ski school meeting points that make it an ideal family-friendly location.
