The chalet features an airy alpine design, with light wooden interiors and stylish modern designer furnishings found throughout. This style is most apparent in Chalet Alia's open-plan living spaces on the top floor. Beneath a towering roof structure, which incorporates several skylights, you will find an expansive lounge and dining space, which flows freely into a black and wood kitchen. From the plush light grey sofas beside the roaring open fireplace to the sleek dining furniture and the fully-equipped facilities of the kitchen, every aspect of the furnishings breathes of contemporary style, while the exposed beams and wood-carved mezzanine balcony maintain that Swiss mountain charm. This floor opens out onto several balconies, where the majestic Eiger can be marvelled at. On the ground floor, you will also have access to a terrace, which spreads into a large chalet garden ideal for playing in the snow.
Located on the ground floor of the property, Chalet Alia contains a gym and spa area, a great addition to anyone looking to unwind after skiing in Grindelwald. There is both a sauna and Hammam, providing a soothing spot for relaxation, while the chalet also features some modern cardio equipment, perfect for anyone wanting to cool down after a day on the slopes. If you prefer to unwind with an escape in front of the television, a secondary lounge area with TV provides a fitting spot to do so.
Chalet Alia offers room for up to 10 guests, spread between 4 double bedrooms and 1 twin room. The rooms are bright and spacious, with each one offering direct access to a balcony or garden, allowing you to wake up and head straight outside, breathe in the fresh mountain air and bear witness to the previous night's snowfall. Four of the rooms enjoy the use of a pristine en-suite bath or shower room, while there is a separate shower room for the twin bedroom.
The chalet offers up free parking for up to 2 cars in its garage. There is also a large ski room with boot heaters for storing any ski equipment, an internal elevator to move between the floors for convenience, and also laundry facilities for guest use.
Prices are based on exclusive use of the chalet for up to 10 guests on a self catered basis with daily housekeeping.
Location
Chalet Alia occupies a fabulous position in the Grindelwald Grund area of resort, a short distance from the slopes and with amazing views of the Eiger.
The chalet is in a brilliant ski position at the foot of the mountains. A short, 7 minute walk will take you from the chalet to the V-Bahn lift station, where you will find the Grindelwald Grund-Männlichen gondola, Eiger Express cable car and the Grund station of the mountain railway, which will all take you into the Jungfrau ski area. From the top of the Eiger Express at Eigergletscher, or the top station of the train at Kleine Scheidegg, you can then transfer onto the Jungfrau railway to take you up to Jungfraujoch, the highest railway station in Europe, for some magnificent views and a truly unique experience.
There are a few bars and restaurants at the foot of the slopes, or for a wider selection you can head into the centre of Grindelwald, where you will also find some shops and boutiques. The centre of Grindelwald can be reached in a pleasant 20-25 minute stroll, or alternatively hop on the bus, with the nearest stop just a minute from the chalet.
