Chalet Strom sets the benchmark for luxury chalets in Zermatt. Finished to an extremely high standard, this incredible ski in, ski out chalet presents a truly special space to relax with friends or family and enjoy the beautiful ambiance.
Featuring unrivalled, iconic Matterhorn views on all floors, every part of this chalet has been flawlessly designed to welcome you on your return from the slopes. The upper floor of the chalet is home to the large open-plan living area, featuring double-height ceilings and an open fireplace, this space is perfect for relaxing after a fun-filled day of skiing in Zermatt. There is also desk space on this floor, ideal for any guests needing to catch up on any missed work during their stay. Take the elevator downstairs, to find the handcrafted walnut, fully-equipped kitchen, complete with a black natural granite worktop, and dining area. This space allows for the loving preparation of your evening meals, before indulging on your delicacies comfortably seated around the dining table in front of the stunning Matterhorn and surrounding mountains backdrop. The breakfast island is an ideal spot for enjoying a quick snack before a hitting the slopes. After your evening meal, if temperatures allow, venture onto the large south-facing terrace area for a closer look at the unrivalled Matterhorn views.
The spacious sauna, spa shower room and massage area will tend to your after-ski relaxation needs. There is also an outdoor hot tub on the terrace of this level, to continue your spa session in front of the stunning snowy views of the Matterhorn. The lowest floor in Chalet Strom has a well-equipped gym with free weights, running machine, rowing machine, exercise bike, assault bike and yoga mats, for any guests looking to complete a further workout.
In total, Chalet Strom sleeps 6-8 guests across 3 en-suite bedrooms. The master king-size double bedroom has the additional luxury of a large south-facing balcony, walk-in dressing room and rainfall shower. A king-size double bedroom, with 2 full-size bunk beds, has the opportunity to be converted into a self-contained 'apartment' - occupying the 3rd floor, this room features a south-facing balcony (with direct access to the outdoor hot tub), lounge area and kitchen, ideal for sleeping families or for 4 teenagers/young adults.
For ease of access, the chalet has a private lift connecting all floors. There is also a ski room with heated boot warmers, to ensure guests have toasty boots ready for the slopes.
Prices are based on the exclusive use of the chalet for up to 8 guests and is offered on a self-catered basis, to include daily housekeeping.
Location
Nestled at the bottom of the Riedweg and Howette/Untere National red ski pistes, Chalet Strom allows for direct ski in access. A rarity in Zermatt, you can also ski out of the chalet via the ski run, to the bottom station of the Sunnegga funicular lift. For less confident skiers, you can download on the funicular, and the chalet is located a minute or two up the hill from here. An elevator will bring you from the bottom station up to the piste, chalet, and the après ski bar CERVO Mountain Resort.
A selection of Zermatt restaurants are just a short walk away from the chalet, with the centre of Zermatt only an approximate 10-15 minutes. The chalet can also be easily reached by an electric taxi.
