Penthouse Charvet - Refuge de Solaise is an incredible duplex penthouse in the exclusive Le Refuge de Solaise, situated high above Val d'Isère at the top of the Solaise mountain. The penthouse apartment is a private haven for a group of 18 guests whilst still benefitting from all the hotel facilities, spa and amenities. This unique offering, would be a perfect base for a celebratory holiday, large group get-together or family retreat.
Within Penthouse Charvet, the top floor houses the beautiful open concept main living space and features vaulted ceilings and exposed wooden beams, forming a heavenly Alpine lodge feel. Natural woods and stone along with sumptuous furnishings marry together with the ragged scenery and snowy backdrop harmoniously. To the left of the room a lounge area offers plenty of rich, plush sofas for a sociable gathering along with a pleasant reading corner and stylish chairs adjacent to the feature stone fireplace. This dining area takes front and centre of the space with a long, wooden banquet dining table running the stretch of the living space with ample seating for up to 20 and unbeatable views out the windows over the mountains and village of Val d'Isère.
Adjacent to this, the kitchen blends in seamlessly and comes fully-equipped with a large central island and relaxed breakfast bar area. A spacious balcony provides an escape to really appreciate this remarkable property on the top of the world, where you are treated with uninterrupted majestic views down the valley towards the reservoir of the Tignes hydroelectric dam.
There are seven luxurious bedrooms for up to 18 guests to stay in, spread over the two floors of Penthouse Charvet - Refuge de Solaise. Two cosy double bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms are situated on the top floor of the apartment while the other five are all found off of the spacious atrium on the ground floor. These bedrooms are all sizeable and inviting, with cosy beds and rustic wooden features. Four of these bedrooms are double rooms, with three having the option of being configured as a twin room, and these four rooms all benefit from open plan bathrooms. There is a shared balcony access from two of the rooms, while all of them provide extraordinary views of the surrounding mountain landscape. Lastly, there is a dormitory room with an en-suite shower room, offering space for up to 6 guests, with two double beds and a bunk bed.
Guests staying at Penthouse Charvet have the use of all the luxury facilities of Le Refuge de Solaise. There are two restaurants and a bar for a fabulous dining experience. The pearl of the shared facilities on offer here has to be the incredible spa area. A giant swimming pool, 25m in length, offers the ideal spot for a relaxing swim while if you're looking to unwind and rejuvenate after a day of skiing there is a wealth of spaces to choose from with two Jacuzzis, two Hammams, an outdoor sauna and four massage and treatment rooms. There is also a gym for further exercise. For younger guests, a children's playroom has plenty of space for games, activities and meals with the kid's club for ages 6 to 12 running from 5pm to 10pm.
Le Refuge de Solaise also offers a ski room with individual boot lockers and, down in the village, complimentary car parking.
Prices are based on exclusive use of the apartment for up to 18 guests and is offered on a bed and breakfast basis with private butler, daily housekeeping, concierge service and full use of the hotel facilities. Flexible dates possible, please enquire.
Please note, due to the remote location at altitude, Le Refuge de Solaise is only accessible using the Solaise gondola. The gondola operates from 9am-4.30pm providing access from the village. From the 10th of December, on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, the gondola will also run from 7pm-11pm, allowing you access to and from the village on these evenings. From Sunday to Wednesday, it is not possible to access Le Refuge de Solaise after 4.30 pm and there is no possibility to leave the hotel and go to the village between 5pm and 9am, for security reasons. Please keep this in mind for your travel arrangements on arrival/departure day, as well as whether this location will work with your plans for your holiday.
Penthouse Charvet is part of Le Refuge de Solaise, perched at an altitude of 2,551m on the summit of the Solaise mountain in Val d'Isère. This is an incredible and unique location with wide stretching panoramas and a sense of seclusion and exclusivity.
Situated at the top of the Solaise, there is no truer meaning to ski in ski out! Immediately outside, you have a children's nursery slope and a choice of red, blue and green pistes in the Solaise ski area. To ski down to the village, the red "Piste M" gives you direct access down to the main lift hub. Non-skiers and skiers alike can also choose to take the gondola downhill if preferred. Make the most of the village shops and amenities during the day, as once the gondola closes at the end of the ski day, you are confined to the retreat of Le Refuge de Solaise and all its incredible facilities!
On your arrival, Le Refuge de Solaise team will meet you at the foot of the slopes in the centre of Val d'Isère and a porter will look after your luggage and vehicle. Access to the Refuge is only possible by using the Solaise gondola, and so is dependent on the operational hours of the ski lift. The team will accompany you, allowing you to sit back and take in the views on your way up to the top!

A stay at Penthouse Charvet - Refuge de Solaise means a total Alpine retreat, away from the hustle and bustle of the busy resort of Val d'Isère at the foot of the Solaise mountain that the hotel sits upon. Within your luxury private apartment you will have everything set up for you for a peaceful and relaxing stay. Situated right on the slopes, this is the perfect place for a group where the focus is largely on skiing, with a luxury place to retire to at the end of the day. However, given the incredible collection of facilities on offer, skiing isn't a requisite. You won't be able to leave the hotel and go down to the village between the hours of 5pm and 9am Sunday to Wednesday, but with the luxury hotel facilities and delectable restaurants on site, you won't want to either!
