Well done to all nominees entered into the 3rd Annual World Ski Awards 2015 and an even bigger contratulations to the winners. Sadly Ski in Luxury missed out on the World’s Best Ski Travel Agent award but maybe next year! On a positive note, an impressive selection of chalets featured on our portfolio took away awards at the A-Rosa Hotel in Kitzbühel, Austria on 21st November.
World’s Best Ski Chalet – Bighorn, Revelstoke (Canada)
British Columbia was the birthplace of heliskiing and Revelstoke is the jewel in its majestic crown. The area has been a magnet for heliskiers for over 50 years, attracted by the massive annual snowfall of light, dry powder and the incredible variety of terrain to explore.

Perched high on the side of the mountain in Verbier, Chalet Sirocco has been finished with immaculate style and elegance. The location is exceptional offering breath-taking views of the surrounding peaks and the valley below.
This stunning property spans over four floors and sleeps eight people in four luxurious bedrooms. It can be combined with neighbouring Chalet Norte to create The Alpine Estate – 1,500m2 of residence and sleeping twenty people in ten deluxe en-suite bedrooms, all of which are individually designed and open out onto private balconies or terraces.
Austria’s Best Ski Chalet – Uberhaus, Lech
Nestled in the exclusive enclave of Oberlech with breath-taking views of the surrounding peaks, Uberhaus is ski in/ski out and without a doubt one of Lech’s most prestigious luxury properties.
Boasting a spacious master suite, two family suites, and a further two double bedrooms (all en-suite) the chalet sleeps a total of ten adults and six children. The chalet’s relaxation area and spa is equipped with an outdoor hot tub, sauna, Hammam, fitness area, massage room, snooker room, bar, library, and a cinema.
France’s Best Ski Hotel – Koh-I Nor, Val Thorens
Hotel Koh-I Nor is located at the top of the popular resort of Val Thorens offering ski in/ski out possibilites on the Plein Sud piste and just a few minutes walk into the centre.
The 5*Hotel Koh-I Nor is offering sixty three luxurious rooms and suites. All rooms and suites are with a spacious private balcony overlooking either the slopes or resort, bathroom with bath and separated toilets and are all equipped with flat screen, minibar, hair-dryer and private safe.
France’s Best Ski Boutique Hotel – Grandes Alpes Private Hotel & Spa, Courchevel
In the heart of the Courchevel 1850 and with immediate access to some of the most exclusive shops below the hotel, Grandes Alpes offers a fantastic ski in/ski out location.
Grandes Alpes Private Hotel also won the Star Diamond Award in 2013. Guests can choose from nine prestigious three bedroom or four bedroom private apartments ranging in size each with their own unique features. All have access to the Valmont Spa and dining facilities, including the new Japanese inspired sake and sushi restaurant named ‘Bizan’ run by Toshiro Kuroda. I was lucky enough to eat at this restaurant and it was delicious!
France’s Best Ski Chalet – Grande Corniche, Les Gets
Located in the beautiful resort of Les Gets, Chalet Grande Corniche is just a short drive in your chauffeur driven car to both the ski lifts and charming resort centre.
Sleeping up to twelve guests in six en suite bedrooms, there is also the opportunity to pay extra for use of a triple children’s bedroom sleeping three or rent little sister ‘Petite Corniche’ which is a cozy mazot which can accommodate a further four guests.
Grande Corniche has a number of unique features, including the grand piano or quirky slide from the bar area on the fourth floor which takes you down to the wine cave on the lower ground floor!
Switzerland’s Best Ski Chalet – Zermatt Peak
Chalet Zermatt Peak I am sure is delighted to add Switzerland’s Best Ski Chalet to it’s trophy cabinet for a second time having won it back in 2013 at the World Ski Awards!
Located just minutes away from the centre of Zermatt, occupying a landmark position and enjoying breath-taking panoramic views across the entire village and mountain ranges as well as uninterrupted views of the iconic Matterhorn.
The chalet can sleep ten adults and three children comfortably. The master bedroom suite covers an entire floor and benefits from a walk-in bathroom, changing room and private Jacuzzi.
