So often when choosing the perfect chalet we focus on what it looks like from the outside and instantly dismiss it if it isn’t in the style we are hoping for. Why is that? Most of our time is spent inside the chalet, is the outlook from inside the chalet not more important? A ski chalet with a view is often an important aspect to consider when trying to find your perfect ski chalet, some might say just as important as whether the chalet has an open bar.
A chalet with a view is one of the main factors for me when I chose a property for my personal ski holiday. The last thing you want when you have found the perfect chalet is to find that your afternoon canapes are going to be consumed whilst painfully gazing at the balcony of the stag party downing Jagerbombs in the Club Hotel next door. A beautiful panoramic vista over a stunning deep valley sounds much more appealing.
So which of the Chalets in our collection have the most Jaw-dropping views? Here some of my favourites.
Chalet M is in a commanding position overlooking Morzine. On the mountain opposite is the Pleney ski run so you can watch as what looks like small ants meander their way down in to the resort below.
The dining room has been cleverly designed with large windows which showcase the view of Morzine and the surrounding Portes du Soleil ski area.
The large terrace is south facing so benefits from being bathed in sun all day. What better place to relax and enjoy this view than the outdoor hot tub. At night you can see the twinkling lights of the resort below.
Ferme de la Corderie is arguably the chalet with the best view in Les Gets. This recently renovated, traditional farmhouse has been finished to the highest of standards. Internally a 22 metre long living area gives the property a feeling space and with an outlook like this it is easy to see why this chalet has made it in to this blog.
As with the Chalet M, the hot tub has a stunning outlook, overlooking the resort of Les Gets and the Perrieres and Chavannes ski lifts on the opposite side of the valley. Whilst parents enjoy sipping on champagne in the hot tub, children can enjoy sledging down the gentle slope in the garden.
The view from the Chalet Le Chardon in Val d’Isere is simply stunning so the owner has made full use of this feature and has built a large terrace and seating area complete with chinineas and a snow bar.
The view that opens up before you is of the Manchet Valley and Vanoise National Park. As with most views you may think that the best way to appreciate them is from a hot tub. In Le Chardon you have a choice of 2 hot tubs and a swim spa from which to enjoy them. This chalet featured in our Party Ski Chalets for a Special Occasion blog with our sister brand Ultimate Luxury Chalets. The main reason for its appearance in that blog was the stunning terrace being the perfect venue for a party. With views like this and unlimited champagne it would be some party.
The views from inside the chalet are as special as they are from outside. Picture yourself sat tucking in to a breakfast feast with the view above as your backdrop. If this doesn’t make you hungry to go and shred some powder, I don’t know what will.
The Eco Lodge is beautifully positioned with views of the stunning Mont Blanc mountain range and Mont Blanc itself. Argentiere is known for its incredible panoramic views and the Eco Lodge uses this to its advantage. With a large outdoor terrace and hot tub there is plenty of space to enjoy this stunning vista.
One of the more unusual features of the chalet has to be the outdoor barrel sauna with a large window at the end which gives amazing panoramic views. It is a great way to relax in the warmth whilst seeing the snow falling outside.
The Eco Lodge was named because of its design features and the fact it is designed to be environmentally friendly. The owners want to preserve the view of the snow-capped mountains for future generations.
If you are looking for chalets with a view in Verbier then you seriously need to consider Chalet Nyumba. Beautiful views and Verbier go hand in hand. The resort is built on the end of a mountain and overlooks the valley below.
Chalet Nyumba enjoys incredible panoramic views across the resort of Verbier and the property basks in the sun throughout the day, making it the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing snooze on the balcony.
The chalet has been built to utilise the fantastic backdrop. From the swimming pool you can enjoy the stunning backdrop of the mountain range opposite.
With large floor to ceiling windows, the chalet gives a feeling of openness and makes you feel at one with nature. You feel like you are immersed in the natural environment whilst enjoying the heat that the large open fire gives out.
The majority of the chalets with lovely views on this list are large properties so I was keen to add a smaller property that is suitable for a smaller party. Chamois Lodge can sleep 6 adults and up to 3 children.
The Chamois Lodge is a stunningly finished chalet in the traditional mountain village of Villarabout close to the resort of St Martin de Belleville. The chalet allows you to fully experience traditional mountain life in a setting that is relatively untouched by the larger operators. This is the perfect place for those to stay who are looking for a large and varied ski area as it is part of the large Three Valleys, yet don’t want to be staying in one of the busier and livelier resorts. The chalets’ driver service will have you down at the lifts within 5 minutes, ready to take on 600km of beautifully groomed ski slopes.
The chalet has a large terrace which overlooks the beautiful mountains on the opposite side of the valley. This section of the valley is not part of the skiing area so is stunningly beautiful and untouched. As with most of the chalets with a view on this list, the best way to appreciate this view is from the chalets private hot tub.
So there we have, some jaw-dropping views for you to enjoy. Do you have a favourite? This is just a snapshot of some of the best views, however there are lots of others that I would love to tell you about.
